    bought: nikon 16-85mm lens
0I bought new 16 - 85mm nikon lens from microglobe around three months ago (may/june 2010). On the third day after purchase i began to notice problem with the lens and after the fifth day the lens developed fault. I took it back to the seller and that was the time i began to see real color of the man behind the desk (microglobe). when i got there, he checked the lens and told me that memory card need to be present in the camera and might affect the lens. I later asked him what as memory card do with lens? He could not gave me an answer for that. However, i left and came another day, and also make sure memory card was in the memory card slot of the camera. When i got there , he told me different story . He said ''oh! the battery need to be fully charged and also need to new one''.This was where i began to show my fury. I realised this man was fooling me. I told this man that i had tested this camera with other lens and everything was fine. This man remain adamant but he latter told to leave the lens at the end of the day, he said he will be sending it to nikon(what he suppose to replace instantly as this lens was bought few days earlier).
To cut the long story short the lens was change 2-3 weeks later after when he could not provide me with his flimsy escuse and it seems he was not really comfortable with that.
In surmary, I think he does not like the idea of returning an item by a customer as he is not prepare to exchange or refund the customer.
Somebody told me similar experience the very first day when i went to his shop.

    bought: Sigma 150 macro
I took my camera and was allowed to test the lens using my focus chart. This is the advantage of buying from a shop. I am sure the stock is all grey import so possibly a bit chancy re warranties

    bought: Almost a Sigma 105mm F2.8-4 Macro
I just want to let everyone know who is looking into buying microglobe a few things..
I am not trying to put them down in any way, and go ahead do not take my advice but I feel as though it is only right to give this information out there to the people who are looking into buying items from this store.

I have a Nikon d40x and was looking into buying a Sigma 105mm Macro F 2.8 lens today. I popped into the shop on Galen Place in London feeling as though I would prefer to buy the lens in the shop, meet the owner, just in case I had any problems I could bring the lens back to the shop directly, not have to deal with the whole Nikon Company, even though there brillant just would be easier. After entering the shop you could tell that it was an online selling mostly, boxes everywhere, and it had me thinking a little bit. I then asked for the lens and one man behind the counter, totally oblivious to the seen just nodded and walked away looking for it. It took him 10 minutes till he returned and said that there were none left. Even though he searched the computer database saying there were two available. (You can imagine how many boxes and everything all over the place now right..?) So as I waited checking prices at other stores in London on my trusty iPhone a father and son stumbled into the store. They took out the receipt to there bought binoculars. The man behind the desk, (two men that work there) just looked at the recept and said here let me give you the number to the company. Precisly why I came to the store to buy it! Having seen this I feel a little uneasy to buy a lens, and reluctanly they couldn't find it i stumpled out of the shop and around the corner to a few of the others. After talking to a few other shop owners about why there prices to this same lens were higher by £30-40 He told me the following. (Which is the whole reason to the post).. but please read it will help you make a good choice.
He said this company (Microglobe) had no affiliation with any of the companies they sold products of, albeit Nikon, Cannon, Sigma, etc, they had no accounts! (Reason why the poor man with the binoculars that were faulty didn't get anymore help than a peice of paper with a number to the company. ) He said that they imported there stuff from China, Afghanistan, etc, and that it had no warranty because they were not affiliated with the companies. Now after hearing this from more than a couple guys, I felt quite relieved about the fact that I did not buy my lens from Microglobe. Now I am not against them in any way, I just believe it is best for a buyer to have all the knowledge of the company and feel that this is necessary for some people to read before buying. Please if you have questions feel free to contact me. Thanks

bought: Defective Sigma 70-300 APO then Nikon 70-300 VR
Ordered Sigma lens by phone, it arrived the next day. Worked for about 6 weeks. Called them, said it was defective, and I would take it to them rather than send it. Also said that I wanted to go for the Nikon lens instead. When I took it to them (took a while to find them!), they said that the lens had to go back to Sigma. I said that I wanted the Nikon, they deducted what I'd already paid from that lens and I paid the balance. I'm rather glad the Sigma went wrong now as Part ex would've been terrible. One thing though, I think the Nikon is imported as he told me the warranty is for a year and it's on my invoice, no warranty card in the box. Other than that, seemed very nice and the shop has a mahoosive amount of stuff! Just take care and good luck! I probably will not use them again as I'd really like UK products in the future.

bought: 500D and Hoya 67-72 step up ring
Ordered a 500D closeup lens which was £40 cheaper than anywhere else. I made sure I called them to check the stock and a friendly assistant confirmed the stock so I ordered and it came the next day!

My advice, make sure you phone them on their stock levels and if you mind about the warranty, ask if the product is a grey import as I hear from other sources this company has a tendency of selling them.

Ordered a couple of memory cards and a UV filter and a month on still waiting, trying to contact microglobe is nearly impossible so now have no other option than to report them to my credit card company and the authorities as possible fraudsters.I will never again order anything from these people ! BE WARNED!!!!!!!!
plenty of other companies out there and it is worth paying the odd pound more to be sure of receiving your goods.

Do NOT deal with these people! They do not answer questions via email. Bought a £200 + Tokina lens. They charged my credit card on 21 Jun. The lens has NOT arrived. They do NOT answer their phone. Just get a diversion and then the message "in-box full". Am about to take first to my credit card company and then to Trading Standars.

Purchased the item a month ago with still no delivery. only one response to many e-mails chasing the item which states 'please wait another week'
web site still offering 'In Stock' delivery 3-5 days for something they have not had for at least a month.
Many web sites are very slick, Microglobe looks good but my experience is a good front end with no service behind.
