Oak Furniture Land claim to sell 'solid wood furniture'. They don't. The lamp table top and sides are clearly hollow. I kept it as it was cheap and looks ok.

TV Unit is 'solid' but is built to suggest thick chunks of wood but is constructed using fairly think pieces.

The bookcase was a complete shambles. It was very twisted and broken in several places on delivery.

The delivery guys, who are good, are instructed not to open the package, and you have to sign something to this effect - the first sign that something is wrong with this company.

Having phoned them to report the damaged bookcase, they first offered a discount. I told them of course that I do not want a badly damaged bookcase in my house, it was only fit for a bonfire. They refused to replace it. But after strenuously complaining they did offer a full refund, which I took.

Of course, if they have no interest in replacing a broken item of furniture with a good one, which the customer ordered... well,needless to say, I will never use them again.

It appears that their business model is quantity over quality and to ship poor quality goods and offload it to customers via offering discounts when they complain.

I'd advise not to take a discount from them, but force them to take the item back, otherwise they have succeeded in offloading poor quality goods to unsuspecting customers.

I have since ordered a similar item of furniture from another company, and not only did they unpack it in my living room so that I could inspect it, it's also proper solid wood furniture, and streets ahead of Oak Furniture Land's product.

Whilst being the first to complain when I get mad service, I'm also happy to praise when things go well.

Was a bit concerned having seen some of the reviews, but we received our order in good time with a decent booking system that kept us up to date with proceedings.

Product was well packaged and of an excellent quality. Would reccomend this company based on our experience.

Terrible experience. Waited 3 months for delivery, only finding about about 'carrier delays' after having called them to chase the order. One item arrived damaged and as other people have said the packaging is ridiculous and the chances of removing it intact is minimal, the heavy duty cardboard boxes are stapled together, however they unbelievably expect you to keep the packaging intact in the case of a return??!!Customer service appaling, e mails returned as invalid address or just unanswered. Please dont be fooled by the low prices, it really isnt worth the hastle.
Having said that, the delivery company was a pleasure to deal with on the phone, always quick to respond and extremely helpful and the delivery guys were very friendly.

We placed a large order in January 2010, was expecting delivery next week, only to find out after contacting them to confirm delivery date, we wont be seeing the order until the end of May now.

The store has excellent display, and the quality is fantastic, but as some other customers state, dont hold your breath in recieving the goods quickly!

I just hope I do see my sometime considering they have had my money since January!

Very good price/quality ratio, but not if you need your furniture any time soon... I've had a number of deliveries from these guys and I've had on average 4-5 weeks delay on every second order. I've only just moved into a new house and hence this furniture was essential, so when Oak Furniture Land started calling me about delays with supply, I had to spend heaps of cash on temporary solutions - money down the drain. So in the end the price works out to be about the same as buying the furniture from the high street.
On the plus side - the quality of the furniture is good and if you are lucky and don't get delayed, you get good value for money...

I bought a lamp table which has split in a lot of places practically fallen apart after only six months! Customer services would not replace it and where down right rude to me! I was really pleased with service and delivery but now i'm having problems aftercare is shocking!!

I bought an oak dresser having looked for one for a long time. The product is great for the price and the communication and service from this company are second to none. I was not expecting great things as the price was so low, however with a 7 day money-back gaurantee I felt confident. I was not disappointed, in fact I was amazed at the quality, which was outstanding for a product which retails at about half the price of a competitors equivalent. Am so pleased I bought this product. Would definately go back.

My experience of this company was very good. I thought the website was well laid out, the furniture was available before the time stated and the communication over delievery was first class. I couldn't fault them. Delivery guys were very professional - very careful. Loads of cardboard but you can't have it both ways!

All in all well done and worthy of me writing a report!

I have ordered several pieces of furniture this year & have been pleased with both quality & service. I ordered a dining room table in January & the wood warped. Customer Services weren't particularly friendly & I was expecting difficulties, but they did send someone round to assess & then sent a replacement table top out ( with no further contact ! ).
All furniture has arrived during the correct time slot & with a call to confirm delivery beforehand.
I've read various comments about packaging & delivery, but I think for the money they offer good products & service

bought: Paid for items several weeks ago but still awaiting delivery!
Absolute chaos and low prices not worth the bother that ensues; you end up paying a fortune in telephone calls trying to sort things out and emails are not answered! The company has over-committed itself and appears unable to deliver at any time let alone before Christmas. Reviews by customers who have been successful are encouraging but unfortnately I face a third night sleeping on the floor and even when the bed does arrive the mattress will not be with it. Currently trying to cancel the whole order. The problem is compounded because my dogs have been stuck in the house for 2 days going stir crazy whilst I hang around waiting for the delivery that has failed to materialise.

I bought a Sleigh solid mahogany king-size bed and two matching bedside chests from Oak Furniture Land about two weeks ago. I have to say that I was very impressed - not only with the furniture (which looks magnificent in my new extension), but also with the easy to use web site and efficient delivery service.
The Sleigh furniture is advertised as 100% solid mahogany, and they're not kidding - even the bed slats are solid mahogany! There has been no expense spared here, yet they were cheaper than my local furniture specialist and they even delivered it at no extra cost!
The delivery was booked in, then confirmed by text message and email. They gave me a four hour time slot and stuck to it. The drivers even phoned me half an hour in advance to let me know they were coming!
In this era of faceless autonomy and foreign call centres it's nice to be able to speak to friendly people in the UK. Equally, in this era of cheap mass production it's good to know that there are still some people out there who care about quality and customer service. Without a doubt the best shopping experience have had in years (on-line or off-line).

I purchased an Oak Sideboard from Oakfurnitureland. The quality of the product is excellent as was the delivery service. it arrived when they said it would!!! Customer service has been excellent. I recommend this company and will be using them again.

Bought £1500 worth of furniture. The delivery slot only gives you an am or pm option. The furniture was fully assembled and sealed in carton boxes, which the delivery men do not open but carry to your chosen room. If you have an narrow staircase, the extra packaging makes it VERY difficult for the men to manoeuvre the furniture, especially wardrobes, which would have been easier to carry had the cardboard been removed. I had ordered Tokyo furniture. The wardrobes come in two parts. The bottom part is sealed inside the main part. The men had to open the box to separate the parts as it would have been too heavy to carry. They then resealed the box and carried each bit upstairs! As they opened the box to take the bottom part out I noticed some dents at the top of the door where the magnetic strips should have been. They were smashed in both wardrobes, probably before being packaged. I rang the company to see what could be done as I thought it unfair for the men to carry everything upstairs only to be called back to take it back. The customer service was not the best to say the least.They were defensive even before I had a chance to explain what the problem was. I was told to accept the delivery as thay could sent someone to fix the missing strips and fill in the dent and worry about the rest later. You must remember that although the company gurantees refunds if not satisfied, the goods MUST be returned in the original packaging. Now, there is A LOT of packaging involved and you cannot examine the furniture unless you take the packaging apart-yes apart. Unless you have vaulted ceillings and can pull each wardrobe out vertically, you have no chance of keeping the packaging intact and if it's ripped the guarantee becomes void straight away! We got rid of our old furniture so we ripped everything off to reveal the back of one wardrobe cracked. By this time we were so annoyed we decided to install own magnetic strips and ignore the back plinth of the cracked wardrobes, which was probably damaged by the fork lift in the warehouse. The furniture itself seems to be of good quality with hardly anywood imperfections. The delivery men were very careful with the goods and took great care not to damage the walls/ stairs etc. In fact they were very accommodating indeed and nothing was too much trouble. However, The quality of customer service is less than good. They don't replace things but try to fix them instead. We did not have to wait long for the furniture to arrive-10 days in all which is a positive. Overall good but not exactly great experience.

Delivery quicker than anticipated.
Only two complaints, one the holes for bolting the Tokyo Console Table did not line up at one side and I asked for a company headed invoice, still waiting.

The website said it would be 12 weeks to get the wardrobe but 4 weeks in they had a cancellation. So I got it 2 months early. The wardrobe was extremely heavy and the delivery men were brilliant they did not damage any of my ceilings or walls and they got it up the stairs. The only minus was some of the shelves did not fit into the wardrobe but they were easily sanded down.

After reading some awful reviews of this company I was regretting ordering anything, let alone four matching pieces of funiture for my living/dinning room. However, I needn't have worried, I am absolutley delighted with my furniture, excellent value for money. All pieces were well packaged and arrived in excellent condition.V V pleased. There was one problem with the delivery - I was told a delivery date but not a time, and I was told that I would be contacted with a time closer to the date, no one rang me I had to ring them and then I was informed it had changed to a week later,there were no problems for the second date the furniture arrived on time.

I have just taken delivery of a beautiful solid oak sideboard and am amazed at the quality and value. Would highly recommend this company. The only tiny criticism I would have is time of delivery. It was expected to arrive in the morning but they didnt deliver until the afternoon.
Apart from that absolutely no complaints and I will definitely buy from this company again.
