    Many Thanks,My items all arrived in perfect condition,and extremely well packed ,with a 30minute warning phone call of imminent delivery from the delivery men(following the previous reminder call and text direct from the company)I am extremely pleased with the whole transaction.I am well aware that these items are solid oak, and will treat them as such, with an initial feed of proper polish and follow up treatments.
    All I can say is that all of my items are "just what I wanted"
    The delivery men were most courteous and placed the items exactly where I wanted for ease of unpacking.

    The table aand cahirs were delivered to dining area as requested. delivery men advised that legs be attached to table upside down, then turned over. I didn't need to use it until Xmas so waited til then, when my daughter and her boyfriend came to stay so we set about connecting legs to table. It seemed rather a flimsy set up, using allen keys, and 2 of the legs did not seem to connect properly. It was very difficult turning the table upside down as very heavy, and on turning the 2 legs gave way. We have tried to re tighten the screws but they have worn clear from the holes and now are too loose to attach. We had to use the garden table for our Xmas dinner! Have emailed the problem to oak furniture land-watch this space.

    I had a sideboard delivered yesterday and I was impressed by how courteous and helpful your delivery men were. I have recently moved into a second floor flat and have had a number of very negative experiences with rude and unhelpful delivery men who complain about the two flights of stairs. The sideboard is beautiful too. I am a very happy customer!

    Before making our purchase at the Stockport store - now closed and relocated to Bolton- we sought assurance from the salesman that there would be no problem getting the wardrobe into the bedroom. The salesman indicated that because the wardrobe was in two parts that there would indeed be no problem that the delivery men would bolt the two parts together once they had got it into the bedroom. If the salesman had said that the delivery men would leave the wardrobe in your hall way because it is too heavy for them to lift over the banister at the top of the stairs we would have walked out of the store right there and then.
    So after waiting patiently for three and a half months we took delivery of the furniture and ended up with the wardrobe stuck in the hallway because Oakfurnitureland make no provision for the lifting of heavy furniture where more than two men are required and it seems the norm for them to expect you to move it yourself using friends and family. The customer service manager seemed a bit taken aback by the fact that we were unwillingly to accept the furniture on this basis and even offered us £40 towards the cost of getting someone to move it. We did consider this but rejected the idea because of possible unseen complications for example if the wardrobe had to be returned.
    As is their policy Oakfurnitureland agreed to the return of the furniture and deferred their £50 per item return fee on the wardrobe but not on the chest of drawers or the bedside table so it only cost us £100 to return the furniture.
    We got our £934 that we had paid for the furniture etc. less the £100 and this was within 7-10 days of the return of the furniture.
    With hindsight we should not have dealt with this company and a better initial internet search on our part might have revealed that we were taking a risk having anything to do with them.
    I have given the delivery a rating of 1 because they failed to keep the promise made by the salesman. I never saw the furniture because it was delivered in sealed cardboard boxes which we did not open so I have given the stock a rating of 5. The Customer Service were helpful up to a point but utimately failed to satisfy us. If they had agreed to send a team of men to do the necessary lifting I would not be writing a negative review. order number ofl-316022 order date 17th March 2011 Sales Person Ian Williams

    I am having terrible difficulties getting any service from Oak Furniture Land
    1. I visited Glasgow showroom on 21 July and ordered and paid for small cabinet - Ord No. ofl-355152
    2. Cabinet delivered on 27 July, door handle was broken, contacted service number within minutes of delivery, told replacement handle would be sent out on 30 July. Never came
    3. Been sending emails every day since 01 August, none acknowledged yet.
    4. Posted comments on review website
    5. Went back to Glasgow showroom and spoke to manager and he phoned customer services, they confirmed I had contacted them on day of delivery. Manager also made it clear showroom had nothing to do with problem as it was classed as Internet Sale. Surely if I go into any showroom that is the point of sale although they enter details on PC as happens in any other company
    6 Received temporary handle but existing retaining screws not suitable
    7. Received phone call on 04 August, person seemed very keen to solve the problem and would call me back shortly, again nothing happened
    8 Now 08 August and nothing happening
    Details sent to Furniture Ombudsman

    After no success with Customer Services visited Glasgow showroom where I assumed was the seller of my furniture, found they do not class this as point of sale, they only enter your requirements on internet, this now goes through as internet sale and showroom has no responsibility for any problems, they are in clear

    A huge thanks to Oak Furniture Land for their fantastic products and flawless customer service. We're absolutely delighted with our new dining table and chairs - which wonderfully match the solid oak sideboard we bought from them earlier in the year. The quality is excellent for such a low price tag and free delivery was a bonus.

    We spent ages researching furniture companies before deciding to buy from Oak Furniture Land back in Feb. It was our first time purchasing furniture from an online company and naturally we were rather cautious - however after reading nearly every single review available, we decided we were in safe hands - and evidently so, since spending over £2,000 with Oak Furniture Land, I haven't got a bad word to say against them.

    We received emails and text messages to confirm our order and booking details... We were given a 4 hour time slot and the drivers even phoned me 20 mins before they arrived to let me know they were near. They were both extremely polite and helpful - nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them!

    So thanks again, Oak Furniture Land - I expect we'll be dealing with you again soon!

    Two TV units
    We bought a pale oak coffee table in January 2008 and for the price were reasonably happy with it. Having now moved house we decided to add the side tables and TV units to complete the room. We made 2 orders one on 23rd |April and the second two days later. First order to be delivered between 15-25 May and the second 18-28 May. On 17th May we received a call from the company advising that delivery of the second order was now delayed until 21st June but would we like to buy special furniture polish! On 19th May we phoned them to ask where the first order was as the delivery date was overdue. Sarah told me that it was delayed until 24th June, and although they had known this since 16th May they had a huge list of customers to contact and we were well down the list but they would have got to us eventually. As we had two orders to the same address why couldn't they have advised about both in the one phone call on 17th May? They have over £800 of our money and I feel that they operate on a shoe string. They probably wait until they have sufficient paid for orders to fill a container before placing a firm order with their supplier. I will never deal with then again. If we can find something we like which will fit in with the existing coffee table at John Lewis or similar we will cancel our order and ask for our money back. You get what you pay for. There are laws which govern distance selling and they seem to be trying to side step them, reading other postings. I have contacted Watchdog in the hope that they find enough discontent to warrant exposure on their programme.

    I purchased a sideboard from JB Global for nearly £500. When it was delivered my wife and I unpacked it trying our best not to damage the packaging too much because their T's and C's stated that the reuturn guarantee would be null and void if the packaging was not re-usable. How you lift an 80KG sideboard out of a box I don't know.
    However upon inspection of the item it was found to be damaged in that one of the support legs was broken, the other just fell off, one of the doors didn't hang true, one of the dividing panels was split, there were no lugs in the cupboards to sit the internal shelves on, there were varnish drips on the front and a section of the tongue and groove back panel was not square creating a tapered gap at the back.
    I made contact with the company a subsidiary of JB Global called oak furniture land who instructed me to take photos of the damage and forward it onto them. I did that and after a few days I was offered £35 off the price to keep it. When I refused I was then offered a repair service which again I declined stating that I just wanted it replaced.
    After a few e mails I was then informed that I could have a full refund and not a replacement. I stated that despite looking for an alternative I hadn't found one that I liked as much they stated that if a second one was delivered and that was damaged I would be in the same boat i.e discount or repair (talk about having confidence in your products).
    Then I thought I had found the same unit with another company but that transpired to be another subsidiary of JB Global/Oak Furniture land and I was told that if I ordered it they would immediately cancel it.
    So I had no alternative but to return it. The couriers who collected it informed me that more than half the furniture they deliver is returned faulty. So you would tend to think that the furniture shipped is sub standard in the first place.
    I had to wait 2 weeks before the money was refunded and I only got that because I rang them up. When I did I initially quoted the wrong order number and that also related to an item of furniture for whicha discount had been given!
    This company also operate under Right Price Furniture too.
    If you don't mind sub standard goods then fine if you do forget it.
    Customer services seem fine whilst offering a discount or repair but when a replacement is requested they don't like it.

    I purchased a beautiful Oak dining table 17 months ago for nearly £300. It has developed cracks in numerous places and the wood is coming apart. I have contacted Oak Furniture Land and have sent photos as requested that clearly show the damage. Oak Furniture Land Customer Service have told me that there is nothing that they can do as the table is over 12 months old! I am disgusted! Is a table supposedly worth £699 not supposed to last more that a year...? I will be taking this matter further but will also be making public Oak Furniture Lands response. Look out for this on Watchdog.

    Oak Furniture Land have responded positively to my complaint and apologised for my inconvenience and upset. They have assured me that the response in these circumstances has been reviewed and will be dealt with more positively in the future. They have agreed to replace my table and will endeavour to deal with any complaints from a customer focused prospective.
    The furniture is beautiful and with the revised customer service review I would recommend the service and the furniture and am looking forward to taking delivery of my new table!

    Oak Furniture Land claim to sell 'solid wood furniture'. They don't. The lamp table top and sides are clearly hollow. I kept it as it was cheap and looks ok.

    TV Unit is 'solid' but is built to suggest thick chunks of wood but is constructed using fairly think pieces.

    The bookcase was a complete shambles. It was very twisted and broken in several places on delivery.

    The delivery guys, who are good, are instructed not to open the package, and you have to sign something to this effect - the first sign that something is wrong with this company.

    Having phoned them to report the damaged bookcase, they first offered a discount. I told them of course that I do not want a badly damaged bookcase in my house, it was only fit for a bonfire. They refused to replace it. But after strenuously complaining they did offer a full refund, which I took.

    Of course, if they have no interest in replacing a broken item of furniture with a good one, which the customer ordered... well,needless to say, I will never use them again.

    It appears that their business model is quantity over quality and to ship poor quality goods and offload it to customers via offering discounts when they complain.

    I'd advise not to take a discount from them, but force them to take the item back, otherwise they have succeeded in offloading poor quality goods to unsuspecting customers.


    I have since ordered a similar item of furniture from another company, and not only did they unpack it in my living room so that I could inspect it, it's also proper solid wood furniture, and streets ahead of Oak Furniture Land's product.

    Whilst being the first to complain when I get mad service, I'm also happy to praise when things go well.

    Was a bit concerned having seen some of the reviews, but we received our order in good time with a decent booking system that kept us up to date with proceedings.

    Product was well packaged and of an excellent quality. Would reccomend this company based on our experience.

    Terrible experience. Waited 3 months for delivery, only finding about about 'carrier delays' after having called them to chase the order. One item arrived damaged and as other people have said the packaging is ridiculous and the chances of removing it intact is minimal, the heavy duty cardboard boxes are stapled together, however they unbelievably expect you to keep the packaging intact in the case of a return??!!Customer service appaling, e mails returned as invalid address or just unanswered. Please dont be fooled by the low prices, it really isnt worth the hastle.
    Having said that, the delivery company was a pleasure to deal with on the phone, always quick to respond and extremely helpful and the delivery guys were very friendly.

    We placed a large order in January 2010, was expecting delivery next week, only to find out after contacting them to confirm delivery date, we wont be seeing the order until the end of May now.

    The store has excellent display, and the quality is fantastic, but as some other customers state, dont hold your breath in recieving the goods quickly!

    I just hope I do see my sometime considering they have had my money since January!

    Very good price/quality ratio, but not if you need your furniture any time soon... I've had a number of deliveries from these guys and I've had on average 4-5 weeks delay on every second order. I've only just moved into a new house and hence this furniture was essential, so when Oak Furniture Land started calling me about delays with supply, I had to spend heaps of cash on temporary solutions - money down the drain. So in the end the price works out to be about the same as buying the furniture from the high street.
    On the plus side - the quality of the furniture is good and if you are lucky and don't get delayed, you get good value for money...
