    Great price.
    Fast delivery and great service. Recommended.

    I had a small problem with DHL charging me an extra £10 tax. Emailed Porta gadets and had the refund of £10 into my account within two days.

    bought: Nikon D90 with 18-200mm VR II lens and memory card.
     Decided to take the risk and buy a NZ$2,500 DSLR camera from Portagadgets. Got an email straight away confirming the order, then paid by bank transfer that night.
    Received an email the next day confirming that the order had been processed.
    The following day received another email saying that the order had been shipped and a UPS tracking number was given. It took 12 hours for the parcel to appear in the UPS system.
    Five days later the parcel was in the country, on the UPS website it stated that tax and duty needed to be paid on the parcel so gave them a call and paid that by bank transfer.
    The camera arrived the next day in excellent condition, well packaged, and exactly as advertised.

    I was very impressed with portagadgets efficiency and price. The only thing that caught me by surprise was the tax and duty that needed to be paid on arrival into the country ($150). Before buying make sure that it is still cheaper to purchase from them with this hidden cost added.

     No complaints with this purchase - phone is fine, and delivered within 4 days.

    I would have rather had a UK power lead, but they did supply a 3-pin adaptor with it, so no big deal.

     Very happy with the service from this company - the phone is excellent and it arrived within the week.

    Only minor complaint was that I tried to contact them through the support ticket on the store, which didn't get any response. But when I used the UK email listed below, I got a response the same day. Apart from that, no probs so I would recommend them.

     I recently purchased a Mitac Mio A702 PDA from PortaGadgets. Overall, I found the service to be excellent.

    I had seen a few forums discussing whther they were legitimate or not, so before I ordered I emailed their UK support at uksales@portagadgets.com. I received a response the same day and found them to be very helpful.

    The price was easily the cheapest on the net. Placing the order was fairly easy, although I did have to try twice to get through the checkout and process my creidt card.

    I received a FedEx tracking reference withint 48hrs and delivery was 3 days later - so less than a week in total from placing the order. Not as fast as UK based sellers, but a reasonable turnaround from the Far East. The phone was very well packaged and in perfect condition.

    I definately recommend them.

     Sketchy. Beware! Porta Gadgets uses a payment service called moneybookers.com. Transactions are CASH ADVANCES on your credit card. You will most likely be charged a heavy transaction fee ($5+) by your bank and you will be CHARGED INTEREST on the transaction immediately. I believe moneybookers.com is primarily used for online gambling and other less savory online activities.

    They sent me an email asking about address clarification. Replies were rejected by their mail server. I tried contacting them through their "Trouble Ticket" system. No reply. I called and left a message on their US number. Still nothing. I finally sent an email to the actual sender's address (porta.support@hotmail.com) asking to cancel the order. The reply (from Anne) said that canceling would incur a "25% restocking fee".

    They got me this time. I will NEVER order from them again.

    bought: Canon S5 IS with a 2GB SD Card. The option to add the card was very well thought out. As I am able to start using the camera when it arrived by Fedex courier delivery.
     Buying online is surely different than going to a retail store where you could look and feel. If you're an educated buyer, and would have done enough homework of the digital camera you wish to purchase, then the next step is getting online, deciding on the right online store to buy from.

    Besides reasonably lower prices, all we want as a consumer is peace-of-mind during the payment process, and (preferably) a shipping that is traceable such as using Fedex.

    Portagadgets were able to present the whole online shopping experience at it's easiest yet fulfilling those human-factor touch that is often lacking when dealing online. A+
